WALLENSTAM: Wallenstam makes recycling inventory in Älta
We are very happy about this collaboration - we regard the circular economy and recycling as an important part of the solution, offering the possibility to positively influence our carbon footprint in the coming years and thereby reach our climate targets. In Sweden, we have a lot to learn from our neighboring country on this issue and therefore this collaboration feels very inspiring," says Karin Mizgalski, Sustainability Manager at Wallenstam.
"The hope is to find an outlet for a large part of the existing material in other properties, either in our own project portfolio or in collaboration with other actors," says Ida Niklasson, Head of the Project Development department and responsible for sustainability for Wallenstam in the Stockholm business area.
"We hope that this mapping can serve as a common starting point for ambitious collaboration on the sustainability agenda which will generate positive effects for Wallenstam's organization, customers and partners both now and in the future," says Anders Bang Kiertzner, Director - Circular Advising at Lendager.
Wallenstam's new construction in central Älta will consist of seven blocks in total. The first block, which is already in production, includes about 200 apartments and almost 5,000 sq m of commercial floor space.
With the development of Älta, Wallenstam wants to connect the square with existing residential areas and create natural and inviting meeting places around culture, services and retail. This is work that will continue for many years.
